Journal Topic: Unit #1—Journal #3---The Importance of Referees. Choose a game/contest in which you participated or observed as a fan in which the Officials/Umpires/etc. made a controversial call. Describe this call and the impact on the game, including your reaction to the call. Secondly, put yourself in the position of the official and consider the importance of referees/officials in all of the popular sports in America. Utilize the reaction of players/coaches/ and fans to replacement officials in the NFL as a rationale to the importance of officials and adherence to rules in our games.
