12/9 Friday Night Lights
The importance of this video is to see the culture and importance of high school football to the high school setting. Also, to examine the excesses of Permian High School and how the special treatment of the athletes lead to new rules and standards for both the NCAA and School Districts on the issues of educational standards, & social standards and conduct.

BCS--Playoff: What a Concept---from Sports Illustrated 11/15/10
The author claims that there is not a playoff championship system in major college football
because the group of people blocking it have a vested interest---they profit from the problem.
1.---What are examples of profiting from the Problem?
The author claims that colleges are outsourcing the most lucrative part of their game--the ?postseason
2.---What do Bowls demand and receive from the schools?
3.---Even with high payouts for BCS games--why do the participating schools in these games ?usuallylose $?
4.---According to the Michigan A.D., their school actually made $ on the season by not qualifying ?for a Bowl game. How is this possible?
5. Since the Mountain West and the Western Athletic Conference are not AQ leagues ?(AQ=Automatic Qualifying for a BCS Bowl) members schools are leaving to go to AQ ?conferences ie..Utah joining the Pac 12. What are schools doing to break up this cartel?
