In a couple of short essays (2-3 strong paragraphs) explain the importance of the story of the Hoosiers to the development as basketball as a major sport in America. Hint--explain how the Cinderella story is good for making people interested in the game whether they are living in a large metropolitan area (where most sports thrive) or a smaller community.

Next, explain how Coach Dale used a "gradual release" approach to his players as the season progressed. Hint---explain how the players were not allowed to talk or question the coach at the beginning of the season to how they were suggesting ways to win the Championship.
